What’s the Difference Between Launching a New Internet Marketing Business and Giving Birth to a Baby?

Well, it’s about 3 days if you are a member of the Goulding family right now!!  Today we launch our new business and Internet Marketing Guide Blog and in less than 3 days, I’m due to give birth to our 2nd child!  Are we mad to attempt this in the space of the same week?  Well, some people might think so, but in actual fact, we are just a normal family, determined to make a difference to our own lives as well as the lives of hundreds, if not thousands of other families, hoping to achieve the same (change their life that is – not give birth and launch businesses at the same time!!)  And anyway, there’s no time like the present, as they say!  

Tough Decision

Of course, each of these events have been a few months in the making – obviously, it has taken me 9 months to “grow” our baby.  As for the business, well there’s been a few months research, then planning and development to get here.  But in reality, our decision to launch an internet marketing business is based on our experience over the last 7 years of achieving very little success within a home based multi-level marketing business despite lots of hard work!!  It was a big decision to quit that business because it was thanks to that business that Ian and I met.  It was also within that business that we built a large circle of friends and acquaintances as well as a few very special friends.  But when it came to the crunch, we had to think about what was going to be best for us and our family in the future.  It’s fair to say that we had also lost our passion for that business, even though we were helping others.  We know that making a difference in other people’s lives is what our vocation is, but we realised that particular business was not the way we wanted to achieve that.

Less painful?

Of course the main difference between launching an internet marketing business and giving birth is the amount of pain – physical pain that is.  But could you argue that there is pain involved in launching a new business.  Mmmm, the quote “the pain of discipline versus the pain of regret” springs to mind – Jim Rohn.  We’ve had to endure the pain of discipline in doing our due diligence to research, educate ourselves, stay focussed throughout the build up process and ensure we follow that through consistently and persistently now with business building activity every day until we get the results we are striving for.  If we don’t??  The pain of regret…that’s a whole other article!!

So which would I prefer to do right now?  Give birth or launch a business?  Heck, let’s do both!!
